Arthur Gomez was born on the 12th of December 1984, in the City of Banjul. His career started at local Hawks FC. His solid performance for the national team of Gambia were noticed by scouts of famous Manchester United. Arthur moved to the Red Devils in August 2001. Right away he went on loan to Antwerp. It is a standard procedure for players who cannot get the work permit. Furthermore, he played only for the reserves. Gomez spent three years in Antwerp, played 44 matches scoring 12 goals. In 2005 he moved to KFC Dessel Sport. One year later he played in Chinese Super league for Henan Jianye. Maybe he is playing there today but in Football Manager 2009 he is a free player. As can be seen, he has not made a great careerso far, however he has the makings of it. Fortunately, he is still young and he can show something, especially when we take into account his 12 matches for Gambia in which he scored 6 goals.
Gomez is a very interesting player. I bought him for Polonia Warsaw without any problem. Although he is not any outstanding player, his attributes are quite good. He is fit, aggressive, and ambitious. Although he will not be the best footballer of the world, he is very likely to be the top goalscorer of a league of such reputation as Polish.
Arthur Gomez is and ideal option for almost every Polish club, however, I doubt that he would be willing to move to one of clubs from lower league.
I regret the most the fact that he did not want to play in lower English leagues. I understand that he may bear a grudge against United, but in King's Lynn he would be treated with respect.
