Gai Assulin vel גיא אסולין was born on the 9th of April 1991 in a town of a weird name, Naharija (Nahariyya). He began his career in a club called Beitar Tubruk. When he turned 12, Shlomo Scharf made an offer to his parents that maybe young Gai should try to play for the youth team of Barcelona. They all agreed to that. In August of 2007 his contract expired, but right away he was offered a new, 3-year deal, with a minimum free release price of 20mln euro. When he was only 16 years old, he made his debut on the senior team of Barcelona, during the game against Girona in the Catalonia Cup. Assulin also plays for the Israeli national team, however, so far he played only one game. Still, his future seems very bright and Israel will be very happy to have that boy on their team.
During a match Gai is fast, flair, creative and determined. He dribbles well and playing first touch is not a big problem for him. Gai's strongest attribute is definitely penalty kick and free kick taking. In those two elements the young player is truly excellent. It's worth mentioning that in FM 2008 he is being characterized as "new Ronaldinho", and his favourite friend is Yossi Benayoun. Another advantage of the Israeli player is the fact that he's also got a Spanish nationality.
Unfortunately, Assulin is quite an expensive player and is hard to get out of Barcelona. Only the richest clubs will be able to put a few million euro on the table for him. Unless you somehow manage to get him out for less money, anything is possible in the world of Football Manager. However, there is no hope that he would ever want to join a team of a Polish caliber.
