Patch 9.3.0 most likely in late February
Transfer window is closed and the Valentine’s Day is approaching – that means the new FM patch is not long ahead. In previous years February was a month when final patches were released by SI. Will it be the same in present year?
When waiting for the final patch, FM-maniacs are usually separated in two groups: some play new FM even though some bugs still appear, others await the final version and continue playing the last year’s version of the game. It’s worth remainding that the 9.3.0 patch will be compatible with previously saved games, so it will be possible to continue your current career after the final fixes.
For some players compatibility is still not enough – they prefer, just in case, start their careers after having the game patched. For others bugs are no reason not to play Football Manager. Neither are squad updates, which will appear together with the 9.3.0 patch. Regardless of the reason, there is still quite a large group of FM fans who still haven’t started playing and they eagerly await the answer for this one question: ‘When will the final patch be released?’ Authors of the game weren’t able to give them the answer so far but Paul Collyer admitted, that the patch is in beta test phase and the code isn’t finished. That means that from now on we will have to wait at least a week until the patch is realesed. Paul said that, if tests went good, we should expect the 9.3.0 patch in the second half of the current month.
That date is confirmed by previous years’ experiences – FM2006 final patch was released on 20th of February 2006, FM2007 – 21st of February 2007 (there was also a little fix released two days later), patch 8.0.2 for FM2008 appeared on 14th of February 2008 (plus a fix one week later). Drawing conclusions from that facts, this year’s final patch will probably be released between 14 and 21 of February.
