This is one of the new possibilities introduced by a new module in Football Manager 2009 that concerns broad notion of a pitch condition. Obviously hard usage of the pitch (in Premiership a game every three days), as well as weather conditions, influences the circumstances in which the players will have to play and determines their style.

Now the pitch will degrade with the course of time - with every game its condition will worsen so we will be able to replace it to let our team to play with natural freedom. Of course, only if we prefer the technique-based playing style and our players’ ability allow it.

Until now in FM a match could be postponed only because of an international fixture and insufficient number of available players. From now on, thanks to this module, it will be possible to postpone a game because of poor weather conditions and surely there will be instances when fans will come to the stadium just to find out that the match is cancelled. On the other hand, I hope the matches on water will not be frequent.
