Everyone knows that it is a must for a good club to have a competent staff responsible for finding players who could make a difference. Things look different in Football Manager though, as there are various tools available that enable effective scouting. FM creators decided to improve the game in this field making club's scouts a more important part.
First step will be to improve the player reports provided by scouts. This will help us decide whether a given player is good enough. On the other hand, the new system will also be used by computer players, which will make the rivalrly for signing players more difficult than ever. Improvements will also be done to next opposition scout reports as there will be strong and weak points highligthed by scouts. Another new feature when it comes to the scouting system is that normally, the natural positions that the footballer can play in will be shown, while other positions will appear once scout report is made on a player.
Player search has also been tweaked. New filters regarding the asking price, contract expiry, contract type, number of appearances and staff reputation will be available. In additton, filters for players trained in nation and trained in league will be introduced, making the task of submitting the appropriate squad for european cups more convenient. Finally, there is a feature of adjusting all of the selected atributtes together in player search.
For the next blog entry, Miles has announced that together with John Abrams from sport.co.uk and Billy from FMDatabase he will be talking about football and other new features in FM 2010. The fans will also have the opportunity to ask questions concerning Sports Interactive and the game itself.
