It must be given to the makers, that this year they managed to get attention of everyone as never before. Since the 3rd of September, when the first announcements about Football Manager 2009 were made, many fans have been counting down the days. Others were impatiently waiting for new information about the game. The campaign has kept to the Hitchcock's rule, that the action should begin with an earthquake and afterwords the tension should only increase...

With each day the number of messages about the new features and other options which were supposed to make the game more pleasant, have been skyrocketing. Time after time we were being shocked by the gentlemen from Sports Interactive, especially when the demo was released earlier than it was announced.

Not keeping to the dates continued: many shops in Great Britain hurried a bit and delivered the game to their customers already yesterday. There was a small problem though - it was impossible to start it off, since the electronic authorisation was not working yet. Probably because of that reason it was launched earlier than expected, because yesterday, 13th of November, at 7 P.M., which was quickly announced by Miles Jacobson. We hope for more of those surprises!

As it was promised, first patch is being released with the premiere of Football Manager 2009, which fixes the bugs found by the programmers after the game code was closed, as well as the ones discovered by the fans playing the demo. A lot of work has been done to make the game more compatible with the weaker computers and also over the stable condition and frequent injuries problems. The list of fixes is very long and can be found on SI Forum. The patch itself weighs 169 MB and the quickest way to download it is through Steam, but other sources are also available - torrents, rapidshare and WorthPlaying.
