In the earlier versions of FM all lower league clubs did not have any scouts and all decent ones were not eager to sign a contract. Therefore the problem was simple: how should I find new, young, talented players to sign? FM 2009 will solve that problem.

The ‘Trial day’ option will give us the ability to watch the players that are not playing for any club at the time. The unemployed players will play a match to win a professional contract for themselves. The likelihood of spotting a superb talent in a game like that is minimal. Still, everything is possible and you may end up with a story like this from the movie "Invincible". Of course it is not the only possibility. We do not suffer from the lack of players that did good only in one match...
