It may seem that they cannot go hand in hand with a computer game, because how should it look like? It turns out however, that at least Football Manager fans are highly superstitious and very often conduct themselves during play. It happens that users before launching their beloved FM put on a shirt in the colours of the team they manage. Weird, isn't it? But, for some, effective...
Another interesting superstition is assigning certain numbers to players. In fact, it is about not assigning a 13 to a goalkeeper. Why? The number brings bad luck to a player, as well as the whole team. There are FMmaniacs who never read the analysis compiled by their assistant about the opponent's key player. In their opinion, every time they do so the player scores, sometimes even more than once. So it is safer no to look at the assistant's notes. Imagine that some players upon seeing an opposing player going into a one on one with their goalkeeper immediately reduce the game speed to minimum. What happens then? The opponent usually misses.
Football Manager is not a new game so some superstitions are now the order of the day. However these accompany even the latest Sports Interactive child – Football Manager Live. One of the users told us that he always has to be the first to wish good luck to the opponent and never plays on the fastest speed because the result is unfavourable.
