One little birdie told another little birdie...

The information fever regarding Football Manager Live is still going around
There is no doubt that Football Manager Live is a project that SI gives a lot of attention to, maybe even more than the next versions of their main product, FM. However, the flow of information in both the cases is minimal or even non-existent.

The subject is definitely interesting, so when there is lack of any official news from the makers, people start reading in between the words and create different rumours. In those there is usually a tiny bit of truth and that is why they are worth talking about...
Let us start with the première date, since on that issue we have gotten an official stand from one of the SI representatives! Unfortunately, Marc Duffy was not very specific and all that the fans managed to squeeze out of him was "Summer 2008", which is quite a long time period. However, some unconfirmed information says that it could be already in June. In March five hundred new beta testers were brought into the game to search for bugs for the next three months. The next question is the price. The game will be available for a free download, but the monthly payment has been estimated to be around 5-7 pounds. Most probably there is not going to be a free testing period after the release of FM Live, as it happens sometimes with different MMOs. However, it is possible that there will be a chance to lower the price of the pleasure by getting other people to join the game. FM Live is supposed to be improved continuously - the makers will be constantly adding new options and fixes and afterwards making them available for download. Such a technique of little fixes will push the première of the new version of the game for about... 8 years since the first release. Can you imagine the situation when after the release of FM 2008, SI Games starts working only on patches and waits with the next version until FM 2016?
Are these all just rumours? Who knows...
