The bulldozers show up - let's build a new stadium
FM Live servers were not responding today in the morning. Not because of a breakdown, but due to a planned maintenance carried out to update the game. The new feature of buliding stadiums is already available from 10. Let's have a closer look at it.
You start your new career as a construction worker in the stadium main screen, where you can get the general info about it - from its name, capacity, pitch size and expansion budget, down to match atmosphere. In addition, bird's eye view and 2D (which is the only view where you can see your stadium; during matches, only the pitch and ad boards are visible) are available, and you can maintain your ground in a variety of ways.
As for the ground maintenance, two lists are available - the first with four main grounds to maintain (four stands and the pitch-side) and the other with detailed information that appear for the selected stadium part. In the stand expansion screen, you can choose from a wide range of available stand constructions, find out their building costs and completion time as well as the number of seating blocks that a given stand consits of. In this way, you can have your own Kop.
After you confirm to build the appropriate stand (which, fortunately, does not mean the construction starts already), you should also put the new space to use - you want your stands to be seated, don't you? There are three elements to choose from - seats, VIP stands and ad boards - each having their own categories and different types. The seats can differ in size and provided comfort, so bear in mind that it can affect the ticket price and maintenance costs. All the information is updated as you choose between the available options.
Finally, when you decide that this is it (or, this is what you can afford), all you need to do is to click Confirm and set the payment method for the selected construction - you can pay in advance or in installments. The building costs may be higher, if you decide to hire a company to deal with the construction (for now, only SI Construction Inc is available in the game), or the cost of labour can equal to zero if you are confident of your own infrastructure skills (you can read about it here). Final click and stadium construction starts! It is worth adding that except of building new stands or blocks of seats, you can also repair the elements already bulit, to improve their quality. You may be happy to use this option when your bidget is tight or if your stadium does not requires further expansion.
It seems rather unlikely for the player of 'traditional' Football Managera to have such abilities - certainly, it would require changing the attitude that Sports Interactive have worked out for years towards its best known product. However, if that would be the case, the solution is already there.
