The English version of CM Revolution is fully available!
The story about ugly Dr. Speed and beautiful CM Revolution began in 2002, when the first bits of HTML code started coming out of El Commendante's fingers. It took him and the rest of the Revolutionary staff, six years to open up to the foreign fans.
During these six years the website has undergone numerous, serious metamorphoses, including name changing and many squad rotations with people appearing, disappearing, reappearing... Many, many things have happened over those six years. Even though some of them were not on the positive side, we still optimistically looked into the future and kept on doing our job the best we could, constantly raising the quality of our materials. In 2005 we became the official Polish website of the Football Manager series - an honour which we take a great pride in. At the moment we are the leading website on the Polish scene, so we decided to try our luck abroad and see how we will be able to work with a foreign language and foreign users. Revolution never stops.
With this short introduction I would like to welcome you all to CM Revolution. It's a place where anyone will find something interesting to do. Right now I'll try to do a quick walk through the website and introduce all the places, which you might have not seen on other FM sites.
Newsroom
This is a place where you can find a lot of information about Football Manager. If there is anything happening in the FM world - it will immediately appear in our Newsroom. If we find any interesting bug or a curiosity about the game - it will be in Newsroom. From time to time we also try to inform you on other manager games, if maybe they are finally catching up to FM, or about the community, if there are any tournaments being arranged or maybe if Miles is once again coming out of his cave to meet with fans.
Articles
This is the part of the office where we send off all the creative writers to let their fingers run on the keyboard freely and explore new depths of their imaginations. This section is divided into subsections - guides, stories, editorials and interviews. The first one is for people who sometimes struggle with the complexity of Football Manager or people who just want to learn something new about their favourite game. Stories are quite self explanatory - just detailed descriptions of people's careers with different clubs. Editorials are more for the free thinkers - this is where our staff members reveal their different thoughts on Football Manager and many other things related to it. Interviews is just us questioning some people who matter on the scene, for some strange reason they usually end up being from Sports Interactive. Hm.
Talents
Place where you can find all the talented players you can only think of. But don't expect only footballers with PA of -9 or -10. We have talents which will be appropriate for the high class teams bravely fighting in Champions League, for the ones which are struggling to keep themselves in the first division and even for the ones from the Conference. It's all about using our search engine and finding players which will fit perfectly to your team.
Graphics
Additional graphics have become quite essential in Football Manager and are one of the most popular add-ons to the game. Our staff creates their own facepacks, logopacks and such to help you make the strife more pleasurable for your eyes.
FilePlanet
There's a bunch of talented fans who decide to make additional programs to Football Manager. No bragging, but we have one of them on our staff and I've heard here and there that thanks to him we have already gained quite a reputation on the foreign scene. Of course I am talking about reporter and his MBI (Match Balls Installer) and MNI (Match Nets Installer). However, we do not stick with only our products - if an author gives us a permission to upload additional software made by him to our FilePlanet we do it without hesitation. Thanks to that you are able to find tons of interesting stuff there, also including updates made by our team or other people. Quite a place to spend some time at.
Prompter
Prompter is a place on CMRev which we are exceptionally proud of. Our fans on the Polish side managed to build quite a community and I really hope a similar thing will happen on the English version. Prompter is not a typical forum - it is more of a place where you can ask a question and quickly get an answer. All of our staff are experts there and we try to provide you with the best help possible from our side, but we have already realised that our users very often know even more than we do. Prompter is also connected to our comments system - those are the topics marked with a golden envelope. However, if you do not wish to see them there, you can change it in the settings on the main site of Prompter.
Manifestos
The newest of our revolutions on the site - our own blogs! Now every single one of our users can sit down and type his thoughts down and share them with others. We also provided a special system for those who wish to publish their careers in Football Manager. For more details let me link you to Speed's manifesto which appeared on the premiere of the blogs.
Comrades and Secret Messages
To create an easier way to find and communicate with your friends on CM Revolution, we developed a "friends" and mailing systems. Add all your nest buddies to your Comrades and if you ever want to ask anyone on the site about anything - feel free to use the Secret Messages. That's what they are for - to be used!
At this point I need to thank all the former members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who have helped a lot with the process of translating the site and its content to English: Blueyonder, hotwalker, Kowboj, maregs, maro, shadowm,WaLdi and woojas. With so many gone already, I need to point out that our team is still very strong, since we still have in our ranks such personas as: kuab, matas, Przemo, Sianko87, Sol, Storm and Fidel.
Even though www.football-manager.info is an English version of the Polish CM Revolution, I need to say that we are still going to have a life of our own. Our own manifestos, topics in Prompter, even articles. Therefore, I'd like to encourage all of you to write your own stuff and send it over to us - if we think it's going to be of some quality, then we will not hesitate with putting it up on our site! My email is reaper@cmrev.com, so don't be afraid to write me, I'll definitely answer with great pleasure. Or just use our Secret Messages, they work just fine as well!
After reading all that you might wonder - why in the whole world are they all so onto the topic of a revolution and revolutionaries? Well, it is because we never stay in one place, we always try to move forward, develop new ideas and just simply make a revolution here! The English version of our Polish site is quite an example of it, isn't that right?
