Information about changes concerning players, staff and the board

Yesterday, Miles blogged about the improvements in the interaction system concerning players, staff and the board. A decent amount of new features to come!

In Football Manager 2011, the FM fans will have an option to talk to virtual characters about multiple topics at the same time, resolving various problems in a quicker and easier way. Wondering how this will work? For example, you ask a player to try not use his weak foot in an upcoming match plus you ask him to recommend a player to buy by the club. Until now, one question could be asked at a time, and then, after a few days passed, another issue could be discussed. It is going to be much quicker now. Managers quite often face situations when one of their players is unhappy and wants to move to a bigger club. As a manager, you will now be able to talk to a player who asks for a move, and assure him about big plans for the club, that the club will grow to meet his ambition. If a player gets frustrated even more though, the only option for a manager will be to come to terms with the fact. If a player refuses to stay, additonal options, helpful for a manager to try to keep a player at club, may become active. Whether talks with a player are successful will depend on a player's character. If a manager's persuasion skills are low, a player may go to the press to make their unhappiness public and even not talk to a manager at all. Similarly, when a player asks for more first-team appearances, many managers tend to promise more frequent play, but then just do not abide by their word. Now, when this will be the case, a player may get unhappy, and thus affect the atmoshpere within a club. Miles Jacobson has outlined the following new features: - the ability to tell a player why they’ve been dropped to the reserves, - a warning for youth players that if they don’t improve, they won’t get a contract, - being allowed to comment on a players performance in training, - the option to threaten a player with being transfer listed if their poor performance continues, - the option to ask a player to be less vocal in the media.
