Football Manager players are divided into two groups – the first one consists of those who prefer “fair” play. They do not use any editors, scouts or other software. The others think these additions make gameplay more pleasurable and eagerly make use of them. And we regret to tell the latter group that FM Genie Scout, by many considered by far the best scouting software, will not be developed further.

The official website contains only a short note about the discontinuation of the software. The creators have mentioned personal reasons behind their decision. Recently the latest FM Genie Scout version was added to FilePlanet.

The question whether there will be a worthy successor arises. There are many similar applications, yet Genie was always number one. For the time being, the alternative is Ingame FMScout created by Immuner. More and more popular becomes FM Agent, which offers a few interesting options. Will any of these become as popular as FM Genie Scout? It is hard to say at this stage, one is certain, though, the whole situation should motivate the others to make their creations better, what should be beneficial to us, the users.
