A while ago Miles Jacobson, the Managing Director of Sports Interactive, made an announcement regarding the authenticity of the informations which appear from different sources about the new features in FM 2009. He stated that the only official and real information will be released in the late summer. Just a simple statement, however in the previous years the SI never made such and never cared much about the rumours which had been going around about the future versions, since the only official informations only appeared on their website. This time the makers decided to deal with it differently - why is that so?
The answer to this question is known only by them, therefore we shall rather concentrate on the action which caused such reaction from Sports Interactive, which is the unofficial information about possible new features in FM 2009. Such has appeared on the Football Manager Wikipedia, which, honestly speaking, does not give us any assurance on the reliability of the news. The first new feature would be an option of becoming the chairman of the team after finishing your manager career. We would be responsible for deciding on coaches and what to do with the club's finances. An innovation which does not seem very possible, knowing how SI works, but who knows? We must remember that in the PSP version there was an option of becoming one of the board members after numerous achievements with the team. However, the only difference that it made was the fact that it was not able to get sacked anymore. The second new feature, which was mentioned on the FM Wikipedia, was a live media conference, during which we would be answering questions having even up to 100 possible replies. How much truth there is in all that we will probably find out at the end of July.
