There is a lot more to be said about the three-dimensional match presentation, but for the series’ lovers only few screenshots showing the 3D mode in the FM 2009 were enough to start sharing their first impressions. Over 700 people answered the SI Games forum poll and nearly half of them thinks that the new mode is excellent. 35% of votes are the users who have decided to wait until a demo will be released. They want to check the 3D mode in practice. Most of these users consider the 2D mode to be imperfect and are afraid that the 3D one will inherit it’s worst traits. Vestigial part in the poll are users, for whom the three-dimensional view of the match is not the most important novelty. They also believe that this option will only worsen the series by slowing the pace of implementing all other important functions.
In conclusion, the greatest innovation in the Football Manager 2009 has been warmly accepted by the players, but as history has taught us - everything new in the FM series should be approached with moderate optimism. Let us hope that we will not be disappointed this year.
