First patch announced!

Paul Collyer announced that there will be a 9.0.1 patch

It's been a tradition for years, passed on from version to version, that patches are being released for Sports Interactive's games. It will be no different for FM 2009, as the patch has already been announced. And only because of one bug!

While watching the latest video presenting the 3D view (we wrote about it yesterday) many FM fans noticed something wrong - text information showed that a goal was conceded before we were able to see it on our screen. At first Paul Collyer claimed, that Sports Interactive team does not see anything like this, even though they were obviously watching the same video as the thousands of fans who did see it. However, after several hours the situation had been discussed amongst the makers and they came up with a decision, that it is a bug and a patch will be necessary to fix it. It appears that the 3D view is half a second behind the match engine, which steers the text and 2D, but not the 3D.

It is just the beginning of an avalanche of bugs, which will stop us from playing the game and require a few patches? It seems as it won't be like that this time, since so far the people who've had an access to the beta version say that it's pretty much bugless! Further more, the problem described above isn't of a kind that would stop anyone from playing, therefore we should rather be happy that SI is already taking it seriously and being professional about it.
